A Message from Michael Mendelson

Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues, and Patrons of the Arts,

On July 15, 2011, an exciting new theatre company, Portland Shakespeare Project, will have its first opening night on the Morrison Stage at Artists Repertory Theatre and, if the theatre gods are shining upon us, we will continue to grace the Portland theatre scene for years to come.

Portland Shakespeare Project has been a brainchild of mine for a few years now. With the help and guidance of Karen Rathje, our Executive Director, and friends, colleagues, and theatre buffs from Portland and beyond, we are ready to launch a seasonal company with main stage productions, staged readings and events which have their roots in classic theatre and a comprehensive series of classes and lectures designed to offer actors the skills needed to maintain a high level of artistic achievement and to inform and educate our audience members.

Please take a moment to look around our web site, visit our Facebook page and join us on our journey.

There are a number of ways for you to be a part of Portland Shakespeare Project: please consider serving on our Board, joining our Patron Council, supporting us with a tax deductible contribution, or purchasing tickets and being part of our audience in our inaugural season. We welcome every level of participation. Portland Shakespeare Project is Portland grown and tended. Come join us and smell the flowers.

Warmly,
Michael Mendelson, Artistic Director, Portland Shakespeare Project
